Large-scale gamification platform combining DApp + Web2.0 — Three.js mini-game hub for Lotte Bellyland NFT holders

A gamification platform built to provide ongoing engagement for holders after Lotte's Bellyland NFT mint. Developed during the peak of Web3 gamification trends like Memeland, combining DApp and Web2.0 elements into a unified experience.
Since mobile crypto wallet integration was virtually impossible at the time, the platform was designed exclusively for web browsers. Development initially progressed from simple gamification toward a text-based TRPG game.
However, mid-development, the client requested scaling back story branches, and upon learning of my Three.js capabilities, proposed pivoting to Three.js-based 3D mini-games. The project underwent a complete pivot from text TRPG to a Three.js mini-game hub, with the challenge of completing multiple games within a tight development timeline.
ROLE
Assembled and led a small development team consisting of 2 designers, 1 3D designer, and 1 backend developer. Personally handled Three.js mini-game design and development, frontend, DApp integration, performance optimization, and everything else beyond the team's scope. Closely collaborated with HYPELABS to drive the project's technical direction and overall progress.
FEATURES
Mini-game Lineup — Built multiple Three.js-based mini-games including a running game, dodgeball game, and mansion game. The mansion game was specifically designed to promote Lotte World attractions, seamlessly embedding brand experiences within gameplay.
Gamification + DApp Integration — Provided Web2.0 gaming experience and Web3 wallet integration on a single platform, creating a structure where NFT holders naturally transitioned to on-chain activities through gameplay.
Extreme Performance Optimization — Through numerous optimization attempts and performance trade-offs within a tight timeline, applied techniques including 3D asset lightweighting, rendering pipeline adjustments, and texture compression. Achieved cross-device compatibility running on virtually all desktop environments and even Galaxy S18 mobile devices.

RETROSPECT
The mid-project direction change was a major challenge both technically and in terms of schedule management. Pivoting from text TRPG to Three.js 3D games while completing multiple mini-games within an already tight timeline was demanding. The biggest technical challenge was optimizing Three.js 3D games to run stably in browsers across diverse environments including mobile. The process of reducing polygons and textures asset by asset to find the balance between performance and quality significantly deepened my understanding of Three.js, and I gained practical experience in flexibly responding to rapidly changing client requirements.
